Long-Term Owner Review: Seiko SKX009. The Seiko SKX009 was my very first dive watch, and I still wear one to this day. It’s still my go-to summer watch if I’m hitting the river, beach, or an occasional dip in a swimming pool.
The black dial with its red GMT hand looks a bit like a Rolex GMT-Master II 16710, though there's nothing particularly earth-shattering about a red GMT hand against a black dial. It's just easy to read. Then, of course, there's the Batman-esque bi-color bezel variant.

Also available with an orange dial, its aggressive, razorbacked bezel is supremely grippy, and the cutout case design recalls the Seiko “Tuna” models, but in a more manageable size. And 20-plus years on, the lume is still some of the brightest in my collection.Additionally, both the Seiko SKX007 and SKX009 have a 120-click, unidirectional (counter-clockwise) rotating bezel made from stainless steel with a black aluminum insert and with markings on it. Every minute is marked with square bars denoting the 5 minute intervals, numerals for 10-minutes, and small circles for the rest. This is a sub 40mm cased SKX coming in around 12mm thick. It has the crown at the 3 clock position rather than 4 and has improved framing around the day and date window. This normally comes with a black bezel, however, I've changed that out with a faded one.
