The Submariner 14060 is made in Rolex’s now iconic 904L steel which is corrosion-resistant, as opposed to the 316L steel which Rolex previously used, which in some cases started to rust. This is of course especially important for a diver’s watch. The aluminum bezel insert of the Submariner 14060 may lack the durability of modern ceramic counterparts, but it offers a unique appeal. Exposed to seawater and UV light over time, the bezel develops a distinctive patina that is specific to each watch. The ghost bezel on this watch is authentic (i.e. not artificially faded) and is one of the greatest fade examples I've ever seen. It's a medium-gray the appears blue in many lighting conditions. There are also some pretty obvious scratches on the bezel, but you don't all that wabi without some sabi.
